Reading Product and Safety Information
A safety data sheet identifies a product, its ingredients and hazards, physical properties, handling requirements, first-aid guidance, storage conditions, and spill or disposal procedures. Product literature can also explain compatible materials, coverage, drying, and maintenance limitations.
Ask a flameproofing provider to identify the exact product and confirm that it is approved for the intended FDNY application. The treatment should be used according to its instructions, and the final affidavit should accurately name the product. Keep relevant records with the venue safety documentation.
Plan for Compliance and Safety
Requirements depend on the venue, material, installation, and current rules. Have a qualified professional review the project, retain all product and treatment records, and coordinate flameproofing with the rest of the property's fire-safety plan.
